What's Holding You Back?
This week I completed a task long overdue that had presented me with a level of risk.
I was aware of the need to complete the task for sometime however have only now been able to achieve it.
On completion I was surprised to notice a palpable shift in perspective.
I felt significantly lighter.
I hadn't realised how much worry I had been carrying over this job.
I thought I had accepted the unavoidable delay without consequence to my mental state.
It reminded me that when we carry a worry for a long time, we become used to its' influence.
It creates a new norm for us.
And we can fool ourselves that the situation is under control.
Then, when the worry is finally removed, it presents us with a point of comparison.
A reminder of what life was like before the worry existed.
And we experience the genuine release of a problem solved.
Perhaps you have experienced the same thing.
It is very easy to accumulate worries.
Or retain a residual impact from unsettled slights, losses or disappointments.
But imagine the weight of all of your unresolved concerns.
Imagine their collective impact.
A self imposed state you may not even be consciously aware of.
If you are carrying the influence of multiple worries, and unresolved issues, how do you know who you truly are?
And just who would you be if you removed all of your obstacles?
We can find resolutions, if we take the time to listen to ourselves, practice patience, and learn to ask for help.
And it is so important to our personal welfare and growth that we do take the time.
I was given this to share.
'Prioritise the wellbeing of mind and body. There should be no divide, they are inextricably linked. Avail yourself of all accessible knowledge and wisdom.'
Focus on the light, always,
